We involve the Masai community in the human resources of the camp and use their craftsmanship, patent in the mixture of leathers and beads. A restaurant under the old ficus a few meters from our growing family of hippos, we are already 28!, our beloved albino baboon who loves to check out the shops and a resident mongoose family in search of their breakfast, are just part of our welcome in the camp along with the safaris inside the Masai Mara that will make the best and more complete experience to discover the Masai Mara and the Masai tribe, their ancestral customs and their daily life.
PLANT A TREE - Plant a tree is our reforestation initiative in the Masai Mara, leave your legacy in the Masai Mara by planting an indigenous tree and contribute to the development of the Masai economy.
FAIR TRADE - is our initiative with the mamas masais of the area, they will be delighted to show you in the camp as they make the necklaces, bracelets and beads they carry in their special celebrations and that you can buy at a fair price.

Day 3: Masai Mara

Second day in Maasai Mara Game Reserve, up to the Mara River banks. Mara River is the natural barrier animals must cross every year. Hundreds of thousands of zebras and wildebeest creates this overwhelming show of survival and death, where Mara River and its countless crocodiles are only one of the steps. Our tented camp is in a perfect position to follow the big migration. Bush Walking Safari on the Mara river shores through the major Great Migration crossing points.

Day 4: Lake Victoria

At dawn, optionally hot-air balloon safari to silently fly over the savannah, landing to a champagne breakfast, to live as the safari used to be in the old times. Following Mara River to the west, we will reach Lake Victoria, also known as Victoria Nyanza or Ukerewe. A local boat will pick us up to bring us, through a 45 minutes cruise, to our PRIVATE ISLAND INSIDE LAKE VICTORIA. We will walk the island, which offers easy climbs up to the top to enjoy the lake sight with amazing sunsets. During this day, we will cross the border between Kenya and Tanzania.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park

We will enjoy a boat cruise after breakfast on our way to Musoma, as the best moment to find all the ornithological unique beauty of that area. Then we will proceed up to the Serengeti NP in Tanzania, natural extension of the Masaai Mara, border crossed by one and a half million wildebeest, 250,000 zebras and 500,000 gazelles between July and October. Followed by the carnivorous, lions and hyenas, mostly. Tonight, we will sleep in our Tented camp Pumzika Luxury Safari Camp, in the heart of Serengeti´s National Park situated in the most exclusive area of Seronera, as far from civilization as we know it. The living area is open to be able to have a 360º view, decorated with cushions and candles recreating a vintage atmosphere, dressed in original furniture and pieces carefully crafted by local artisans to make you experience an unforgettable safari.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park

Second day in Serengeti NP. As animals are more active at sunrise and sundown, and in this time the possibility to see hunting episodes increase, that's why we will concentrate our safari in these moments, with the aim to spot the big 5s: lions, buffalo, elephants, rhinos and leopards. The camp is situated in the middle of the endless plain: never ending spaces, infinite skies, unnumbered stars.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Game drive at sunrise toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will pass through the area of the Kopjes, rocky islands in the grasslands where lions, leopards and cheetahs use to rest. Optional the visit to Olduvai Gorge, where incredible fossils and artifacts of the first hominid were found. Before arriving to Ngorongoro CA and our camp, we will visit a Maasai community. Our camp is just on the rim of the crater, offering a spectacular view over the area.
Pakulala Safari Camp is the only tented camp in the world located above Ngorongoro´s crater. East Africa Camps offer a unique experience in an exclusive location with spectacular views. This exclusive location continues developing our sustainable and responsible philosophy focused on the direct repercussion in the local economy of Masai life that inhabits the Crater in coexistence and respect with the fauna and flora that lives there. Every East Africa Camps traveler who sleeps at PAKULALA SAFARI CAMP contributes directly to this magical symbiosis that happens between tourism, the Masai life, wildlife and their safaris, we are very proud of it.

Day 8: Arusha

At sunrise, we will be the first to descend the crater into the Ngorongoro crater area. A unique volcanic crater 600 meters deep and of 20 km diameter which hosts the densest animal community of whole Africa and more than 40,000 Maasai farmers. The situation of Ngorongoro is actually unique in the whole world as the crater plays as a natural cage for an incredible number of animals. Moreover, water is available all year so that the animals are not forced to migrate. After the Game Drive, we will head to Arusha.
